October marks breast cancer awareness month, and if you are new to Kansas City, October is a great time to get involved in your new area. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer, and is affecting millions of women and their families every day. The American Cancer Society hosts its annual “Making Strides” walks across the United States to help raise money and awareness to fight breast cancer.

The Kansas City event takes place on October 22, 2016 at the Crown Center, located in the heart of Kansas City. The walk begins at 9 a.m.; however, attendees, survivors, and walkers are encouraged to arrive at 7:30 a.m. to register and fill out paper work. There is an opening ceremony to welcome donators, participants, and survivors. The walk is a great time to meet and greet locals if you are new to Kansas City.

There will be a survivor area with various forms of entertainment occurring throughout the day. The Making Strides event is set up not only to raise money and awareness, but also to uplift women and their families who are battling, or who have battled, breast cancer. Last year, Making Strides raised over $60,000,000 towards fight breast cancer. Be a part of Kansas City by helping to raise even more money than last year.

This is a non-competitive walk, meaning that you do not have to complete 5k if you are not able to. If for some reason you are not able to participate in the walk, consider getting your family together to donate or volunteer at the Making Strides event.

If you have never been to Kansas City, then it’s understandable to have some reservations about moving there. Not knowing anything about an area that you will be calling home can be scary. Kansas City movers have moved people from all over the country to this great area, so allow us to tell you about our beloved city and convince you to move to Kansas City.

Not Cookie Cutter

Cookie cutter is the term given to places that are typically the same. Think of rows of suburbs that all have the same looking house. Kansas City is definitely not cookie cutter; there are still lots of interesting mom and pop shops, local artists, bands, and a unique Americana vibe.

There’s No Rush

It’s easy to get around by car and you won’t be stuck in traffic and commuting. If you want to move to Kansas City because you need a change from the cold city life, then you are in luck. Ask your Kansas City movers and they’ll agree, this a place to destress!

There’s Lots to See and Do

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that a move to Kansas City will be boring, because it will be anything but. There is a vibrant down town area, art district and a nightlife that will keep you coming back for more.

But before you call your Kansas City movers, why not stop by for a visit and see for yourself if a move to Kansas City is right for you?

There is nothing worse than the moment after the Kansas City long distance movers have gone and you are left with all that adjusting to do! You probably have to get work done, start transferring your address and bill to your new place, and get acquainted with the new area.

Not having an internet connection for a few days can be dreadful and really put you behind. So why not use the free Wi-Fi in Kansas City while you can?

- Kansas City Public Library - 2017 W Pennway St Kansas City, MO 64108 (816) 701-3487

But it doesn’t end there; free Wi-Fi in Kansas City will be available through the streets soon. Kansas City is one of the first places in the United States to try out a new system of street Wi-Fi. There will be 50 “smart” streetlights around the city that will spread free Wi-Fi in Kansas City.

Everyone will have free access; your family, the baker down the street, even Kansas City long distance movers.

The plan was announced in May of this year and are set to roll out as soon as the end of the year. Just another reason to move to Kansas City.

It wasn’t long ago in which business movers across the United States were moving business into the suburbs, away from city centers. Like the ebb and flow of life, businesses are more interested in staying near downtown areas instead. No one has noticed this more than the Kansas City business movers at All My Sons Moving & Storage.

The pull of the downtown area has struck again, and Kansas City businesses are feeling it. The Kansas City street car is a cross between a San Francisco cable car and the Japanese bullet train (in looks only, not supersonic speed). This street car has attracted more visitors to the downtown area in Kansas City. The national economy is on the upswing, and because so many businesses left the downtown areas over the past few decades, the rent became cheaper and the area is more available.

Convention bookings are also increasing. Between 2017 and 2022, attendance has increased so drastically that Visit KC announced they are expecting an increasing in revenue from bookings, hotels, and restaurant patronage. They predict the bookings to end up being roughly $32 million. That projection is likely to increase over the course of the years as more bookings come in. Kansas City business movers are expecting this resurgence to increase the number of businesses moving back to the downtown area.

If your company wants to get into the downtown area, call the Kansas City business movers at All My Sons Moving & Storage. One of our moving professionals will discuss your options and walk you through our process. We are the best in the business when it comes to moving your business!

Rent prices in Kansas City are on the rise, and they show no signs of slowing down. The question during economic changes like this is always: is this a good or bad thing? All My Sons Moving & Storage is a company that delivers the best prices and services, so we understand prices are important to our customers.

Some might lean toward the default thought of, “Rising prices are always bad. That means we pay more!” However, what you may not know is that the rising process affects entire neighborhoods, cities and states in some good ways, more than bad. Rising rent prices in Kansas City imply a better economic environment throughout neighborhoods and the entire state.

It’s easier for people moving to Kansas City because you have the opportunity to find the apartment or house with a rent that more closely fits into your budget. In fact, the entire move can hinge upon the rent prices in Kansas City in general, which you’re able to determine before moving to the area.

Those who already reside in the area are affected, as well. The negative effects of rising rent process in Kansas City are obvious in the short term: individuals and families will have to format their budgets or move somewhere cheaper. The long term might mean that the area improves. There will be better schools for kids and better employment opportunities, which will lead to families and individuals being able to afford the rent prices in Kansas City.

If you’re looking to save money on moving to a new area, save with the Kansas City movers at All My Sons Moving & Storage.
