The Q Hotel + Spa in Kansas City’s Westport area is a new building, but it is already planned for renovation in the next few months and a relaunch as AC Hotels by Marriot Kansas City Westport. There are more than 90 AC Hotels by Marriott in Italy, Portugal, and Spain. The first U.S. hotel is scheduled to open in New Orleans in September with Westport slated as the second U.S. location. The hotel sits at 560 Westport Road and is designed in a modern style that is meant to appeal to aesthetically inclined millennials.

The remodel and upgrade process will elevate the hotel with features like the AC Lounge, mobile check-in, a fitness center, a media salon with Bluetooth and also USB charging stations, as well as 123 modern rooms. The chain of hotels is known around the world for being stylish, urban, and geared toward design conscious travelers. The hotels are also conducive to both business and leisure.

Hoteliers and researchers say Millennials, those generally born in the 1980s to the early 2000s, are unique travelers because they want to stay constantly connected through social media, they want coffeehouse-like spaces where they can work and play, and they want unique and local amenities.
