Even if you are on a budget after moving to Kansas City, it’s no reason to put off exploring your new town. To get you out and about while keeping your money in your wallet, All My Sons Moving & Storage offers a list of free things to do in Kansas City:
Crown Center – Although this entertainment district offers great restaurants and dining, one can still enjoy the area while on a budget. For example, in the summer there are several free outdoor movies and live concerts available. In the winter, there is the lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree.
Kansas City Fountains – There’s a reason Kansas City is known as “The City of Fountains”, and that’s because the city is home to over 200 fountains. Some fountains are larger than others, but all are equally beautiful. Our local Kansas City movers suggest visiting the city’s newly renovated J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain, which can be found at the Country Club Plaza.
Kansas City Public Library – One of the most treasured landmarks in Kansas City is the Central Library branch. While visiting, you can head into the old bank’s vault for a free movie or go see the popular Community Bookshelf located outside the famous building.
Lakeside Nature Center – Take some time to enjoy the outdoors after moving to Kansas City and head on over to one of Missouri’s largest wildlife rehab facilities, The Nature Center. The nature center is located in Swope Park and gives visitors the opportunity to observe local wildlife and learn about local conservation projects that are underway.
