Boulevard Brewing Co. brews Kansas City’s favorite beer all year long, but each February, the brewery outdoes itself when it releases its Chocolate Ale. It will be released to taps on February 2 and released in bottle-form the following day.

It is a local collaboration between the Boulevard Brewing Co. and Kansas City-based chocolatier Christopher Elbow. The flavor is described as slightly hoppy and nutty, with hints of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. It has sold out almost instantly every year since its release. The brewing company has taken notice and produced more beer each year, but it seems they cannot make enough!

Chocolate Ale can be hard to come by. Neither Boulevard Brewing Co. nor Christopher Elbow’s store sell it. You will have to get it from a bar or liquor store, and this is easier said than done.
