Ford Motors has committed $1.1 billion in developments in Clay County, Missouri, with expenses covering a new building and 1,600 new jobs. In the scheme of things, Ford has formed an agreement with the United Auto Workers to invest $16 billion and stimulate 12,000 new jobs by 2015.
The need for additional manpower comes with the ramping up of Transit Connect commercial vans, which is currently very popular in Europe. The goal is to market it to American businesses. With a fuel efficiency of 24 miles per gallon, it’s poised to be appealing to businesses.
