Your electronics, furniture, and other valuables should be given the royal treatment when being packed. Flat screen televisions are extremely fragile and sensitive, so it’s important to pack your flat screen TV correctly for a successful move if you aren’t investing in packing services. The first thing you should do is get the correct packing supplies. You will need a ¾ inch professional packing pad, high density packing cardboard and shrink wrap.
The first thing you should do is wrap the TV in the professional packing pad. You should wrap it from bottom to top, rather than side to side. Next, you should cut out four pieces of cardboard that are three inches larger than the front, back and sides of the TV. Make sure you are using a high density packing cardboard, like honey comb cardboard. There is a huge difference in vibration absorption compared to regular cardboard.
You should securely tape all of the sides of the cardboard together. Then shrink wrap the entire box around the middle. You don’t have to shrink wrap the top or the bottom.
If you are going to pack your flat screen TV for long term storage, the packing process is pretty similar. The first thing you need to do is, wrap the TV in packing paper across the middle. Then, wrap the TV in bubble wrap in the same direction. Cut out four pieces of cardboard that are three inches larger than the front, back, and sides of the TV. Once the cardboard is put together, completely shrink wrap the TV.
